    Job Title: Safety Coordinator – Construction

     

    Actalent is seeking to hire a dedicated and proactive Safety Coordinator to join our construction team. This role is critical in promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and best practices across our job sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety, excellent communication skills, and a hands-on approach to safety management.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Serve as a safety leader, promoting and enforcing safe work practices across all operations.

    + Collaborate with project management and supervisory teams to identify and mitigate hazardous conditions and unsafe behaviors.

    + Assist in the development and implementation of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Site-Specific Safety Plans.

    + Support the administration of safety programs, compliance initiatives, and training activities.

    + Develop and deliver engaging safety training programs for staff and craft personnel.

    + Conduct regular jobsite walkthroughs, inspections, safety audits, and observations.

    + Manage documentation and administrative tasks related to safety compliance.

    + Record and report near misses, incidents, safety violations, and unsafe conditions using company-approved tools and platforms.

    + Assist with driver safety programs, DOT compliance, and maintenance of related records.

    + Participate in Safety Committee meetings and incident review sessions.

    + Accompany safety, health, and insurance inspectors during site walkthroughs as needed.

    + Stay informed on industry best practices, safety publications, and updates on protective equipment and techniques.

    + Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    + Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction safety or an equivalent combination of training and related experience.

    + Experience working on large construction projects is preferred.

    + OSHA 30 certification required; OSHA 500 certification is a plus.

    + Strong knowledge of construction safety procedures and compliance standards.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.

     

    Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
