We are seeking a Product & OEM Controls Engineer to bring leadership and technical expertise to our Product & OEM automation group. This role focuses on automation projects and customer service within the concrete industry, with minimal weekend travel. The candidate will design, install, and maintain PLC-based controls in a manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities
+ Design and engineer concrete batching control systems that integrate new and existing hardware/software for comprehensive operation.
+ Program, configure, and troubleshoot Rockwell PLCs, Panelviews, VFDs, and industrial communication networks.
+ Troubleshoot controls, instruments, and electrical issues impacting manufacturing processes.
+ Perform on-site commissioning and provide training.
+ Assist and train maintenance, production, and other technicians with technical or troubleshooting matters.
+ Evaluate system equipment to optimize performance.
+ Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair control systems on-site or remotely.
+ Conduct diagnostic tests and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems using advanced tools, emphasizing digital multimeters.
+ Measure voltage, current, and resistance in AC/DC circuits up to 600v to identify electrical faults.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting.
+ Experience in electrical troubleshooting and field service.
+ Knowledge of mechatronics and controls engineering.
+ Ability to install, commission, and service equipment with up to 30% travel, including domestic and Canadian locations.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude.
+ Understanding of UL 508A control panel construction/design requirements.
+ Experience with AutoCAD.
+ Minimum of 2-4 years of college education.
+ At least 3 years of experience with PLCs and components, including CompactLogix and MicroLogix.
+ Expertise in using digital multimeters for electrical troubleshooting and component testing.
+ Familiarity with industrial control panel components.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to travel up to 30%, mostly Monday to Friday.
+ Manual dexterity to handle small components and use hand and power tools.
+ Capability to climb, balance, and work on ladders and elevated platforms.
+ U.S. Citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.A.
Work Environment
The role is based in the office or on job sites throughout the United States and Canada, requiring travel up to 30%. Initially, the position will be onsite for learning purposes, with potential for remote work once established. The work involves standing or sitting for extended periods and navigating tight spaces in various weather conditions. A collaborative and dynamic team environment is fostered.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Champlin, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
