Job Title: Superintendent – Roadway ProjectsJob Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Superintendent to lead and manage asphalt paving operations on roadway construction projects throughout the St. Louis region. This is a field leadership role responsible for supervising crews, coordinating equipment and materials, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

+ Supervise and coordinate daily activities of asphalt paving crews on roadway projects.

+ Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.

+ Manage scheduling of personnel, equipment, and materials to optimize productivity.

+ Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to meet project goals.

+ Monitor and report on project progress, costs, and potential issues.

+ Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce company safety policies.

+ Train and mentor crew members to promote skill development and team cohesion.

+ Troubleshoot field issues and implement effective solutions in real time.

+ Maintain accurate project documentation and daily reports.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum 5 years of experience in asphalt paving, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

+ Knowledge of DOT specifications, asphalt mix designs, and paving equipment.

+ Proven leadership and communication skills.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.

+ Proficient in scheduling, time management, and problem-solving.

+ Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ OSHA 30 certification preferred.

+ Experience with paving machines, rollers, and heavy equipment.

+ Quality control and grading experience.

+ Ability to operate a paver on an asphalt project.

Work Environment

The position involves working in the field throughout the St. Louis region, focusing on heavy civil construction and roadway infrastructure projects. The work environment is dynamic, requiring flexibility and adaptability to varying project needs and conditions. Safety is a top priority, and adherence to company safety policies is mandatory. Dress code and attire should be suitable for construction site conditions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Maryville, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
