We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Project Manager to join our dynamic team in South Florida, playing a crucial role in supporting the Everglades Restoration Program. This position involves working closely with the Project Manager, Project Engineer, Superintendent, QC Manager, and Site Safety personnel. The Assistant Project Manager will assist in steering the project direction, ensuring completion and financial success while managing relationships with owners and subcontractors.
Responsibilities
+ Ensure the safety of all assigned employees and subcontractors, enforcing adherence to company safety policies and programs.
+ Execute contract documentation, including drawings, technical specifications, and general conditions.
+ Negotiate contract modifications with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
+ Ensure compliance with small business requirements.
+ Issue timely notices to the owner to protect company interests concerning extra work, design changes, delays, and impacts.
+ Manage and coordinate company personnel and resources for the project.
+ Assist with preconstruction efforts.
+ Oversee all aspects of the project from inception.
+ Prepare and execute the Project Executive Plan.
+ Prepare trade contracts and bid packages and oversee the procurement process.
+ Monitor project performance, including status, schedule, cost control, and change management systems.
+ Maintain relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.
+ Lead project meetings, including progress, pre-construction, and pre-award discussions.
+ Review inspection and test data for compliance with specifications.
+ Develop and maintain a site logistic plan in coordination with the Superintendent.
+ Assist in setting up QA-QC procedures and conduct quality inspections.
+ Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through personal actions and mentoring others.
+ Prepare, submit, and follow-up on monthly payments with the client.
+ Review and approve monthly subcontractor’s pay applications and vendor invoices.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience as an APM or PM, supporting pump station, heavy mechanical, earthworks, underground utilities, and/or water control structure projects.
+ Experience with projects valued at $10+ million.
+ Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong management skills and leadership qualities.
+ Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
+ Proficient in Excel and Word.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with SFWMD and/or USACE is a plus.
+ Estimating skills.
+ Experience with E-Builder, eCMS, and/or RMS systems is preferred.
+ Procore experience is preferred.
+ Bluebeam experience is preferred.
+ Autocad and Revit experience is preferred.
Work Environment
The role is based on-site at the job trailer, potentially at the G-6A Pump Station or S-623 Pump Station in South Bay, FL. The typical schedule is from 7 AM to 4 or 4:30 PM, with occasional longer hours due to project progress, schedule, or weather. Working on Saturdays is sometimes required. The position requires wearing a hard hat, steel-toe boots, work pants, company shirt, safety vest, gloves, and safety glasses.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Bay, Florida.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $53.00/hr.
