Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description
The Controls Engineer is responsible for programming PLC, HMI, and communication systems. This role requires writing programs based on control narratives, I/O lists, and electrical schematics while maintaining a safe work environment and meeting deadlines.
Responsibilities
+ Develop PLC and HMI programs, perform FAT testing, start-up, and troubleshooting.
+ Create I/O lists from P&ID’s and review customer system specifications.
+ Travel to perform troubleshooting, training, and start-up support.
+ Collaborate with NES for programming support at customer locations.
+ Participate in process improvement efforts to enhance efficiencies.
+ Integrate communication between PLC and DCS/SCADA systems.
+ Configure and scale connected devices for each system.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in PLC programming, particularly with Allen Bradley components.
+ Experience in automation and controls engineering.
+ Electrical engineering knowledge.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
+ Up to 4 years of programming experience, preferably with Allen Bradley.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 2-year degree in controls/electrical engineering.
+ Background in programming water treatment systems is advantageous.
+ Ability to extrapolate information from manufacturer’s documents for device configuration.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
