    Job Title: Aseptic TechnicianJob Description

     

    The cGMP Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for sterile compounding in a regulated 503B outsourcing facility environment. This role involves working in ISO-classified cleanrooms using aseptic techniques to prepare compounded medications under cGMP conditions. The technician will follow USP <797> and <800> guidelines for sterile and hazardous compounding, perform accurate batch preparations, ensure meticulous documentation, and adhere to gowning and cleanroom protocols.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform compounding of sterile medications (IV admixtures, injections) in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and USP <797>/<800> guidelines.

    + Accurately weigh, measure, and mix pharmaceutical ingredients for batch compounding, ensuring formulations meet required standards.

    + Operate and monitor specialized compounding and filling equipment, ensuring proper cleaning, sterilization, and calibration.

    + Maintain detailed manufacturing records and complete all required documentation in real time.

    + Prepare samples and documentation for quality assurance testing of compounded products.

    + Manage compounding supplies and ingredient inventory within the cleanroom.

    + Uphold all 503B facility protocols and cGMP regulations during compounding activities.

    + Participate in ongoing training and competency assessments to remain qualified for cleanroom work.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience in sterile compounding.

    + Proficiency in aseptic technique and cleanroom procedures.

    + Familiarity with FDA regulations and 503B facility standards.

    + Experience with quality control and quality assurance processes.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma or GED required.

    + Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is a plus.

    + Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification is highly preferred.

    + Experience with both sterile IV compounding and other compounding types is ideal.

    + Basic computer skills for data entry and label printing.

    Work Environment

    This role is based in an FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facility specializing in sterile compounded medications for critical care settings. The facility operates under strict cGMP and regulatory oversight. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, in a cleanroom environment where garbing and PPE are required. As the first hire in this startup environment, this position offers exciting opportunities for growth and advancement.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colonie, New York.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $50.00/hr.
