    Job Title: Off Shift Relief Operator

    Job Description

    As a 2nd Shift Relief Operator, you will provide scheduled break coverage for machine and line operators across various production stations. You will be responsible for operating label line machines, palletizers, depalletizers, and other packaging equipment as needed. Your role will also include assisting with loading and unloading materials, replenishing supplies during shift transitions, and maintaining accurate records of production activities and downtime. Safety and cleanliness are paramount, and you will follow all safety protocols while maintaining a clean and organized work area. Flexibility is essential as you perform other duties assigned to support production and warehouse operations.

    Responsibilities

    + Provide scheduled break coverage for machine and line operators.

    + Operate label line machines, palletizers, depalletizers, and packaging equipment.

    + Assist with loading/unloading materials and replenish supplies during shift transitions.

    + Maintain accurate records of production activities and downtime.

    + Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.

    + Perform other duties as assigned in support of production and warehouse operations.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in operating various machines such as labelers, palletizers, depalletizers, and casing equipment.

    + Ability to learn and adapt to new equipment and processes quickly.

    + Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and report equipment issues promptly.

    + Strong attention to detail to ensure product labeling and packaging meet quality standards.

    + Effective time management for efficiently managing break coverage and task transitions.

    + Problem-solving skills to handle unexpected issues during shift changes or equipment handoffs.

    + Clear communication with team members and supervisors.

    + Flexibility to assist in multiple departments as needed.

    + Reliability with consistent attendance and punctuality.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Forklift and machine operation experience.

    + Inspection of parts and ability to operate multiple types of equipment.

    + Basic computer and documentation skills.

    + Experience in general labor, material management, and material-handling equipment.

    Work Environment

     

    This position operates on the 2nd Shift from 3 PM to 11:15 PM, with the potential for Saturday work if required. Shifts typically run for 8-10 hours, and all necessary PPE is provided to ensure a safe working environment.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochelle, Illinois.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
