Job Title: Wastewater Treatment Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Plant Operator for a full-time operations project in Houston, TX. The Plant Operator will perform a range of mid-complex to complex tasks involving field assignments based on client requirements, ensuring efficient and effective operations of the treatment plant.
Responsibilities
+ Perform daily operations and maintenance of the treatment plant.
+ Complete minor routine maintenance of equipment.
+ Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
+ Apply a working knowledge of fundamental principles, terminology, and methodology in carrying out assignments.
+ Operate facilities using computer or PLC controls.
+ Monitor, regulate, and adjust chlorinators, chemical feed pumps, and other process equipment.
+ Collect samples and perform routine in-lab tests as required.
+ Maintain a log of operations and maintenance activities and related records.
+ Operate systems to maintain compliance with permit requirements.
+ Wash clarifiers, dissolved air flotation systems, contact basins, and operate sludge handling equipment and other process unit equipment as required.
+ Possess good knowledge of practices used and equipment required in the O&M of industrial facilities.
+ Perform routine laboratory and field tests for control of plant operations.
+ Possibly operate a variety of equipment such as forklifts, aerial or scissor lifts, generators, compressors, and pumps.
+ Participate actively in creating a safety culture at the jobsite.
+ Adhere to the policies and standards set forth in the Firm’s Project Delivery Manual, Employee Manual, and Corporate Health & Safety Manual.
Essential Skills
+ High School Diploma or Vocational training or equivalent.
+ Applicable health and safety training.
+ Typically 5+ years of experience in relevant fields.
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
+ Valid driver's license.
+ Ability to perform basic control laboratory testing and understand and apply results.
+ Proficiency in computer and computer-controlled equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Wastewater operator licenses preferred.
+ Good record-keeping skills.
+ Comfortable with learning new operating, maintenance, analytical, or computer skills.

Work Environment
The work environment is located in Bushy Park, a multi-divisional industrial complex in Goose Creek, South Carolina. The site hosts several chemical manufacturing companies, with the central wastewater treatment plant owned by DCL. The role involves working in a setting that requires adherence to safety standards and policies.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
