Job Title: Laser Set Up Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Laser Set Up Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and programming Mitsubishi Lasers. This role requires daily tasks such as nesting parts, loading towers, and monitoring cut conditions.

Responsibilities

+ Set up, operate, and program Mitsubishi Lasers.

+ Nest parts and load towers.

+ Monitor cut conditions to ensure quality and precision.

+ Cross-train in other departments including brake press, punch press, welding, grinding, and shipping/receiving.

+ Load and unload materials from trucks and stage them for different departments.

+ Wipe down machinery and remove scrap from scrap collectors.

Essential Skills

+ 2+ years of experience operating lasers.

+ 2+ years of machine operation or equivalent experience with hand/power tools.

+ Experience with sheet metal and laser operations.

+ Mechanical inclination.

+ Experience with ERP systems and MX Station.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Sit down forklift experience preferred.

Work Environment

Work in a state-of-the-art sheet metal shop that specializes in short to mid-range production runs. The facility is clean, spacious, and equipped with heating and air conditioning. The shop has been recently renovated to increase overall space and features an automated information and production system. The environment supports every aspect of the sheet metal fabrication process and focuses on runs of 20-10,000 parts.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shakopee, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
