    Job Title: Press Operator

    Job Description

    The press operator is responsible for setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining various press equipment. This role involves performing all make-ready tasks such as hanging plates, installing cylinders, examining plates/cylinders for imperfections, prepping blankets, and adjusting tension and register. The press operator will also make necessary color corrections and press adjustments prior to production runs to meet and maintain quality specifications. Additionally, they will clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as needed, and performing periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain press equipment.

    + Perform all make-ready tasks such as hanging plates and installing cylinders.

    + Examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and check for correct positioning of images.

    + Make necessary color corrections and press adjustments before production runs.

    + Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs as required.

    + Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.

    Essential Skills

    + Thorough knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, and specifications.

    + Understanding of equipment and safety requirements to perform assignments.

    + Ability to read and understand job specifications.

    + Knowledge of press capabilities to determine appropriate press usage and settings.

    + Skill in making precise settings of controls and adjustments.

    + Routine operational maintenance and minor repair skills for equipment.

    + Knowledge of appropriate packing pressure for printing.

    + Skill in using a micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with blueprints, flexography, and printing troubleshooting.

    + Mechanically inclined with skills in setup and blueprint reading.

    Work Environment

     

    The position is based in a printing press environment with shifts from 7pm to 7am, working three days on followed by four days off, rotating every eight weeks. Employees enjoy two breaks and a 30-minute lunch break. New hires are eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus, with $1,000 paid after the first 30 days and another $1,000 after 90 days.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Streetsboro, Ohio.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $49920.00/yr.
