As part of **The Global Tool Unit** , a leader in innovative fastening solutions and professional-grade nailers, you’ll gain exposure to the global supply chain behind precision-engineered power tools. You’ll work on real projects that impact cost, risk, and supplier strategy — while learning how companies navigate today’s complex geopolitical and trade environment, including tariffs and shifting global supply chains.

ITW’s Summer Internship Program offers meaningful, hands-on experience under the mentorship of seasoned professionals while introducing you to ITW’s highly decentralized and entrepreneurial way of doing business. Outstanding performance can lead to future opportunities, including full-time employment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Build an understanding of assigned commodities: market conditions, key cost drivers, global supply base, and industry trends to help shape purchasing strategies.
+ Conduct market research to identify world-class suppliers and competitive sourcing opportunities.
+ Support cost-reduction initiatives through spend analysis, market trend assessment, and stakeholder collaboration.
+ Quantify the financial impact of sourcing strategies (savings, cost avoidance, baseline spend).
+ Partner with experienced sourcing managers to address geopolitical challenges, including tariffs, trade compliance, and supply diversification.
+ Contribute to supplier development and risk mitigation strategies in a global manufacturing environment.
+ Utilize project management tools to define timelines, track progress, and present results to the team.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Spend Management, Engineering, Operations, and Trade Compliance.
Qualifications
+ Rising Senior students pursuing degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering.
+ Minimum GPA 3.0.
+ Strong MS Excel skills, including V-lookup, H-lookup and indexing functions, pivot tables and graphs. Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
+ Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
+ Resourceful and able to work independently.
+ Must be detail-oriented and able to cleanse large sets of data (identifying mistakes in address field assignments, etc.).
+ Present your accomplishments, lessons learned, and insights in briefings to Strategic Sourcing leadership.
+ This internship is approximately 40 hours per week for 12 weeks, with flexible start and end dates within the range of May-September.

Compensation Information:
The hourly range for this position is $22.50- 23.25. Please note that this wage information serves as a general guideline. The company considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
