    GENERAL PURPOSE: Responsible for providing customer satisfaction both internally and externally by assisting in the overall operation of the dock, including coordinating with the Shipping Supervisor and Loader to ensure that all shipments are handled appropriately.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    * Assists in completing weekly Payroll documents through the use of Shop Floor software.

    * Processes shipping paperwork, including but not limited to, bills of lading, customs paperwork, and parcel airway bills through the use of various carrier websites.

    * Obtains rate quotes and other shipping charges from various carriers, via telephone and internet.

    * Tracks shipments from various carriers, via telephone and internet, to obtain information Customer Service.

    * Maintains on-time shipment goals by ensuring that shipments are dispatched to appropriate carrier.

    * Responsible for keying appropriate information from tickets and shippers into the system and making corrections to system input from the floor. Also performs specialized billing functions for pharmaceutical production.

    * Ensures correct routing for shipments and ensures best freight costs, based not only on destination, but also customer requests and company approved carriers.

    * Makes corrections to paperwork returned from finance.

    * Enters correct shipping information into OTM.

    * Deals with drivers and customer pick-ups.

    * Creates OTM reports, including but not limited to processing order loading, shipment actuals, corrects errors in oracle.

    * Prints and scans paperwork, sending emails per customer work instructions.

    * Answers emails for customers that requests tracking information.

    * Researches requests for missing tickets that need to be invoiced.

    * Completes necessary filing of departmental shipping documents.

    * Completes daily mail run within the plant.

    * Logs and communicates orders ready for customer pick-up.

    * Arranges LTL pick-ups for customer returns.

    * Maintains daily shipping metrics.

    * Coordinates training within the shipping department on appropriate use of various carrier websites.

    * Communicates with representatives from various carriers, to discuss challenges and successes with shipments and to stay current on the developing technology on their respective websites.

    * Maintains non-ISO customer shipping instruction files.

    * Files claims, freight returns and call tags.

    * Coordinates month-end cutoff.

    * Performs other job duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    * Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Picker/Packer, Loader, and Meter Operator positions.

    * Ability to read and write complex instructions, correspondence and memos.

    * Maintain strong communications skills, both verbal and written; possess ability to communicate appropriately and professionally with internal customers and external vendors.

    * Ability to operate a label machine.

    * Ability to operate the FedEx and UPS meter machines.

    * Capable of maintaining good attendance.

    * Able to work overtime as needed.

    * Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
