Job Summary
This is hourly-paid administrative support work involving clerical and general office responsibilities within the Human Resources unit. This part-time position requires fewer than 30 hours per week (maximum of 29 hours) and is not benefits-eligible.
Job Responsibilities
+ Provide administrative support for Human Resources operations and activities.
+ Assist with Juvenile Correctional Officer (JCO) recruitment processes, including application screening, compiling eligibility lists, scheduling interviews, and supporting testing activities.
+ Support onboarding and orientation of new employees by preparing new-hire packets, conducting initial meetings, and explaining employment forms and procedures.
+ Update and maintain staff-related documents such as organizational charts, employee rosters, emergency contact records, and demographic data.
+ Ensure compliance with all facility safety policies, rules, and procedures.
+ Schedule interviews, conduct phone screenings, and assist with general HR-related administrative tasks.
+ Provide support to Human Resources Technicians (Levels 1 & 2) with assigned personnel functions.
Minimum Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED and at least one (1) year of clerical-level experience with responsibility for processing at least one personnel function (e.g., payroll, transactions, benefits).
OR
+ Completion of vocational/technical school coursework in business or office administration.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates who possess:
+ Two (2) years of progressively responsible clerical experience in human resources.
+ An Associate’s degree (or equivalent) with major coursework in human resources management, business/public administration, or a related field.
+ Experience using Taleo and PeopleSoft systems.
