    As a leader in the Gameplay Systems team, you will manage a group of software engineers with the unique challenge of building the systems that empower internal developers and the creator community to deliver world-class Minecraft experiences to players across multiple platforms.

     

    You will take end-to-end accountability of delivering high-quality features into our products by helping evaluate requirements, design solutions, estimate development, and guiding your team. Collaboration with peers in development, product, design, and quality will be key to delivering robust features on a predictable schedule. Successful candidates will be able to identify opportunities for improvement and guide their team to success by advocating and living our values.

    Responsibilities

    + Grow a high performing team with a healthy culture based on trust. Nurture each individual’s growth.

    + Foster collaboration. Partner closely with the team’s Product Managerand engineers to ensure alignment. It will be critical to build close partnerships with our internal customers.

    + Take an active part in the tech strategy for gameplay systems and advocate great engineering practices as well as continuous improvement.

    + Guide the team to design elegant solutions which result in maintainable high-quality code. Mentor the team on implementation and release at quality.

    + Communicate effectively to achieve successful outcomes through collaboration across disciplines.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications** **:

    + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

    + OR equivalent experience.

    + 4+ years of people management experience. Passion for developing people.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + 4+ years of experience developing game/entertainment technologies or native applications. Experience helping teams deliver timely, high-quality products.

    + Proficient design, programming and debugging knowledge with the ability to lead others to do these at quality through solid engineering practices

    + Clear communication and teamwork with an eagerness to reach goals in a collaborative manner.

     

    Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
