Summary
Reporting to the Specialty Pharmacy Manager of Accreditation, the "Pharmacist, Specialty Accreditation" leads the survey readiness program for specialty accreditations (URAC/ACHC) by providing ongoing guidance and support to pharmacy client partners.
Essential Functions
+ Actively prepare and participate in on-site surveys, including coordination of agendas, assigning of tasks, tracking activities, and preparation of documentation to be presented during the survey.
+ Manage project activities for new and existing (maintenance) accreditations, including submitting applications and preparing/training staff for on-site surveys.
+ Facilitate survey readiness activities such as mock audits, training, and the development of corrective action plans.
+ Monitor and evaluate specialty pharmacy processes for adherence to internal protocols and external regulatory standards (e.g., URAC, ACHC, NABP, FDA, DEA).
+ Perform internal audits and prepare for external audits/accreditation surveys.
+ Serve as liaison with accreditation auditors/reviewers to ensure compliance with standards and to implement corrective action plans pre and post audit/survey.
+ Serve as the on-site primary point-of-contact during accreditation surveys.
+ Maintain accurate documentation to ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance.
+ Identify areas for process improvement within specialty pharmacy workflows.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives.
+ Analyze performance metrics and generate reports to guide data-driven decision making.
+ Participate in the Quality Management Committee and Quality Management Program activities such as Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) and collection of Performance Indicator (PI) data.
+ Perform gap analyses as necessary.
+ Manage Quality Management processes by coordinating quality activities and evaluating aggregated findings.
+ Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization; organize and manage quality assurance functions in close cooperation with the Pharmacy Operations Management Team.
+ Maintain compliance with laws governing the pharmacy industry:
+ Federal, state, and local laws.
+ Adherence to Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations.
+ Adherence to DEA regulations.
+ Environmental health and safety standards.
+ Revise policies as necessary to comply with laws, new systems, etc.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (REQUIRED)
+ Pharm.D. or BS Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
+ Pharmacist license current and in good standing
+ 3+ years of experience leading specialty pharmacy accreditations required.
Preferred Qualifications
+ 2+ years of pharmacy home infusion, mail order accreditation leadership experience preferred.
Work Conditions
+ Requires approximately 25% travel as needed.
+ Must be able to work in both office and clinical environments.
+ May require occasional extended hours to meet accreditation deadlines or support survey activities.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, compliance-driven setting.
