**VCA Old Tappan Veterinary Hospital located in Norwood NJ** is a progressive and compassionate 6 doctor general practice veterinary hospital. We are dedicated to providing the highest standard of care to our patients and clients. As an AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) certified hospital, we are committed to excellence in veterinary medicine, client education, and a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and surgeries
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and diagnostic lab testing (blood, fecal, urine, etc.)
• Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical preparation and recovery
• Take and process digital radiographs
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment logs
• Educate clients on post-operative care, medications, doctor recommendations, and care club wellness plans
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, surgical suites, and treatment areas
• Support front desk staff as needed with client communication and scheduling
Qualifications:
• Associate degree or certification from an accredited Veterinary Technician program
• Licensed or eligible for licensure (LVT, RVT, or CVT) preferred
• 1+ years of clinical experience in a veterinary setting preferred (new grads welcome)
• Proficiency in animal restraint, sample collection, and patient monitoring
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment with a positive attitude
• Passion for animals and commitment to quality patient care
