    How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:

    TheSenior Project Administratorprovides financial analysis and budgeting expertise within the Engineering & Construction to assist department management in strategy and decision-making regarding operations, budgeting and capital budget planning. Additionally, this position procures and manages the departments on-call professional service contracts.

     

    Note: This position is eligible for a hybrid (both remote and onsite) telework arrangement. Candidate's permanent residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

     

    What you would do in this job

     

    + Coordinates and manages existing budgets, and performs financial analysis and reporting, including engineering capital grants.

    + Tracks compliance and supports development of annual capital and operating budgets.

    + Procures, negotiates and manages on-call professional services contracts consistent with Council policy and budget authority.

    + Leads development of special projects and analysis for Engineering & Construction budget decision-making.

    + Supports invoicing, pay request processing and budgeting for project and construction managers.

    + Administers project funding and construction administration software.

     

    What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications)

    Any of the following combinations of progressively responsible experience in public administration, budgeting, or financial analysis in a transportation environment or a related field; and completed education in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a closely related field:

    + High school diploma/GED with eight (8) years of experience

    + Associate degree with six (6) years of experience

    + Bachelor's degree or higher with four (4) years of experience

    What additional skills and experience would be helpful in this job (desired qualifications):

    + Completion of a college degree program.

    + Understanding of capital funding and budgeting process.

    + Proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities.

    + Experience contributing to an equitable, positive, and respectful work environment that values cultural diversity among all employees.

    What knowledge, skills and abilities you should have within the first six months on the job:

    + Knowledge of budgeting and financial analysis.

    + Skills in detail-orientation.

    + Skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

    + Ability to communicate effectively to different stakeholders.
