    We are searching for the best talent for an Experienced Automation Engineer, LCM MSAT that will be based in Spring House, PA or Raritan, NJ.

     

    _An internal pre-identified candidate for consideration has been identified. However, all applications will be considered._

    Purpose:

    The **Experienced Automation Engineer, LCM MSAT** will lead global initiatives to implement critical process closure projects that enhance reliability, innovation, and sustainability across our manufacturing sites. This role demands balancing diverse requirements across early development, clinical trials, and commercial production, while collaborating effectively within a global network.

     

    Key responsibilities include leading global initiatives, supporting automated systems selection and integration, process closure experience, and driving these improvements through implementation. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in automation engineering, process closure technology, equipment qualification, and digital technologies, with a passion for advancing innovation within a regulated environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    _Automation & Process Closure Integration_

    + Lead the design, specification, and deployment of automation systems for new and existing equipment across the CAR-T network from early concept to global implementation.

    + Experience with process closure and containment technologies, including isolators, weldable solutions, and other automated systems. Familiarity with data analyses and data leveraging which support the design, implementation, and validation of these technologies.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless automation and process closure technology integration into global site processes.

    + Support procurement, vendor engagement, business case development, and project costing analyses to support required business processes for implementation.

    + Provide detailed data to support updates for project teams and high-level summaries for executive-level decision-making.

    + Oversee equipment commissioning, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), and lifecycle documentation in compliance with GMP, CSV, and Data Integrity standards.

    + Partner with MSAT, Quality, IT, and R&D teams to identify automation opportunities, reduce variability, and optimize network performance.

    + Continuously analyze network performance and produce concepts which support COGM reduction, robustness, and efficiency.

    + Develop KPIs and use them to monitor operational performance and identify improvement areas.

    + Drive change management initiatives, including communication plans and risk mitigation strategies (including FMEA development to support projects).

    _System Support & Troubleshooting_

    + Provide technical support for automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, MES, and control platforms.

    + Troubleshoot automation issues to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.

    + Maintain thorough system documentation and quality records.

    + Lead investigations and root cause analyses related to automation failures and process deviations.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related fields.

    + Minimum 4 years (2 years with a Master’s degree) of proven experience in automation within GMP-regulated manufacturing.

    + Deep knowledge of cGMP guidelines and regulatory standards (EMA, FDA, etc.).

    + Strong understanding of process closure/containment technologies, control systems, and equipment integration.

    + Self-directed, detail-oriented, with excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.

    + Proven ability to manage projects and collaborate cross-functionally.

    + Familiarity with drug development, manufacturing processes, and submission requirements.

    + Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

    + Willingness to travel up to 10%, depending on project needs.

    + Experience with PLC programming, SCADA, MES, and data platforms.

    + Familiarity with data historians, digital twins, and Industry 4.0 technologies.

    + Knowledge of validation practices and regulatory requirements for automated systems.

    + Exposure to digital transformation, data analytics, and cross-functional initiatives.

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

    $77,000 to $124,200
