Tailchasers Barrington Pet Resort in Lake Barrington, IL, is looking for a reliable, attentive, and motivated pet lover to join our team of pet caregivers - NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.  We provide the tools you need to ensure your success within our company.

*This is a SEASONAL part-time position available from November 2025 -January 2026*

Compensation & Shift Structure

+ $16 hourly + tips

+ Part-time (29 hours or less) 6:50a - 12:30p, 12:20p - 6:00p, 6:50a - 10:00a, or 3:00p - 6:00p

+ Full-time (30 hours or more) 6:50a - 3:00p, or, 9:50a - 6:00p

Position Overview

Kennel Technicians have the pleasure of caring for all pets within our facility (dogs and cats). The position requires sanitation of pet lodging areas, feeding, medicating, rendering spa services (baths, nails, teeth brushing, ear cleaning), and overseeing play sessions. The ideal candidate for this position will be comfortable managing dogs of various sizes on leashes/leads, being on your feet for the entirety of your shift, and comfortable being outside in various weather conditions such as rain, snow, or shine.

Responsibilities

+ Managing facility dog playgroups

+ Pet spa services: baths, nail trims/grinds, teeth brushing, ear cleaning

+ Kennel cleanliness

+ Pet feeding & medication

+ Executing the teaching of BASIC dog training commands (sit, stay, wait)

Requirements

+ US citizen or legally authorized to work in the US

+ Able to pass a background check

+ Strong ability to work independently

+ Ability to communicate with customers in a friendly manner

+ Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted

+ Able to stand for 6 hours uninterrupted

+ Basic knowledge of computers and tablets

+ 16 years of age or older

+ Must be teachable and flexible
