    Position Summary

    CVS Health, one of the top companies in the United States is seeking a Manager of Communications and Strategic Planning to partner with the Executive Director of Communications Strategy and Operations to support and help oversee the strategic planning, reporting and measurement, and overall operations for the corporate communications organization. This position will partner with Communications Leadership Team and our Analytics and Insights to support the annual strategic planning process – including setting annual goals and key performance indicators, building our annual strategic plan and managing our monthly and quarterly measurement and reporting programs. Working in close partnership with our Senior Managers, this role will gain exposure to our colleague engagement strategy and other key strategic initiatives for the communications organization.

     

    Reporting to the Executive Director, the ideal candidate will help successfully identify opportunities to streamline the strategic planning, measurement and reporting processes, help foster engagement across our Communications Leadership Group (CLG) of Director and above leaders; and bring forward industry best practices for consideration and implementation.

     

    Your ability to partner with and support senior executives and colleagues across the CVS Health enterprise, including the various business units (Aetna, Caremark, Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness and Health Care Delivery) as well as Strategy, Marketing, Government Affairs, and others to ensure alignment of strategies is critical to success in this position. You will utilize your strong project management and critical thinking skills across multiple disciplines to support execution of plans with in-house talent as well as our third-party vendors, as necessary.

     

    You will be a key member of the Enterprise Communications team and will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues focused on multiple lines of business, as well as corporate centers of excellence to pull through best practices and programs.

     

    This position can be based in Hartford, CT; Woonsocket, RI (headquarters); Wellesley, MA, New York, NY; Northbrook, IL; or Scottsdale, AZ. Other locations, including remote, will be considered for exemplary talent.

    Primary Responsibilities

    + Serve as a trusted, strategic advisor to the Executive Director, the Communications Strategy and Operations and broader enterprise communications teams, and key business leaders.

    + Support the annual and ongoing management and strategic planning process, including project management monthly and quarterly measurement and reporting, key initiatives and deliverables.

    + Identify opportunities to drive engagement and collaboration across our Communications Leadership Group (CLG) of Director and above leaders

    + Have a proven track record of producing and editing clear, concise, compelling and clean copy and executive messaging covering complex subjects on tight deadlines.

    + Align with in-house talent and third-party vendors as necessary in support of our overall communications strategy, including timely delivery of collateral assets.

    + Stay abreast of an ever-changing environment to develop recommendations to adapt and influence outcome.

    + Proactively pull in, share and adopt insights from broader company communications department (Enterprise Communications)

    + Develop and refine key performance metrics to demonstrate effectiveness and contribution to the overall strategy

    Required Qualifications

    + Excellent project management and written and verbal communications skills, including ability to succinctly but persuasively share information across stakeholder groups

    + Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality. Strong performance accountability orientation, both in terms of following through on commitments and deadlines

    + Strategic and analytical thinker, with superior problem-solving skills and the ability to support tactical execution without losing site of the overall strategy

    + Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

    + Demonstrated ability to advance communications goals via social and digital channels

    + Experienced in developing and managing key performance metrics that resonate with multiple internal audiences

    + Strong collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal and external parties

    + Experience sourcing stories and developing a story pipeline across an industry or at a large organization

    + Excellent executive presence and verbal communication skills

    + An interest and ability to effectively deliver in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment

    + Willingness to travel, as needed, in support of business needs

    + 5-8 years of experience in increasingly responsible strategic planning and/or communications roles, including experience with internal and external communications.

    + Experience in healthcare and/or consulting is required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Communications strategy experience in healthcare industries is preferred.

    Pay Range

    The typical pay range for this role is:

    $72,360.00 - $199,144.00

     

    This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
