    The Role

    The Role:

    Develop and maintain detailed 2D and 3D visual work instructions and process documentation for ship construction and integration.

     

    Interpret and convert engineering drawings, models, and specifications into visual workflows for production teams.

     

    Utilize visualization and authoring software to generate high-quality images and animations.

     

    Collaborate with engineering, planning, and production departments to validate content accuracy and ensure alignment with current technical requirements.

     

    Provide feedback and process improvements to enhance communication and reduce production errors.

     

    Maintain version control and ensure visual documents adhere to established standards and style guides.

     

    Train or mentor Level 1 developers on visual documentation tools and best practices.

     

    Analyze digital design data and utilize these products in conjunction with build plans to create quality and accurate Visual Work Instructions (VWIs). Interprets and adds design elements and portions of systems for VWIs to meet manufacturing and installation requirements. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, Teamcenter, NX, SAP, NGP and TDP. Incorporates required changes as applicable. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

     

    Must Have

     

    Associate's Degree in relevant field and 1 Year of relevant experience

    One of the following may be used as equivalent to an Associate's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

    + NNS Apprentice School graduate

    + Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate

    + High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience

    + High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience

     

    Nice to Have

    Nice to have:

    Experience using CAD or 3D modeling software (e.g., NX, Teamcenter, AutoCAD, etc).

     

    Prior experience creating manufacturing or assembly instructions in a shipbuilding, aerospace, or heavy industrial environment.

     

    Familiarity with digital manufacturing systems and visual communication standards.
