    Description

    Stony Brook University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applicants for multiple non-tenure track, temporary part-time faculty positions as Adjunct Instructors with an expected starting date of Spring 2026. The selected candidate should have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, and ideally will already have experience teaching Electrical and Computer Engineering at a college or university level. The candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses depending on the department's teaching needs.

    Adjunct lecturers are temporary instructors. Recurring appointments are possible depending on teaching needs, past performance, and the availability of funds. Pay is based on established university rates for temporary adjunct instructors

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    MS (foreign equivalent or higher) in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or closely related field in hand by appointment date. In lieu of an MS degree, a Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Electrical, Computer engineering, or a closely related field with a minimum of 10 years of course-related experience in academia or professional/industry settings may be considered.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Demonstrated history of excellence in teaching in an academic institution. Experience teaching Electrical and Computer Engineering courses in a higher education setting.
