    Chevron is accepting online applications for the position **Specialist - Process Safety** through **11/10/2025** at **11:59 p.m.** **(PST)** .

     

    The Specialist - Process Safety reports to the El Segundo Refinery Process Safety Manager and plays a key role in supporting execution of process safety standards and maintaining compliance with Chevron and regulatory requirements.

    Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

    • Supports execution of process safety standards and requirements

    • Advises on process safety updates and ensures requirements are reflected in refinery programs

    • Coordinates audits, agency inspections, safety plans, and assessments

    • Interacts with regulators and assists with process safety management activities

    • Provides process safety guidance and training to Operations, Maintenance, and Technical teams

    • Coordinates process safety metrics, learnings and analyzes data to drive improvement

    • Stewards Process Hazard Analysis recommendations from entry to closure.

    Required Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or related discipline. In lieu of a degree, 7 years relevant professional experience.

    • Quantified experience: minimum 7 years’ experience in relevant professional experience

    • Ability to assess and prioritize risks within operating assets

    • Ability to coach teams and leadership in risk mitigation and safeguard assurance

    • Experience in effectively coordinating audits and inspections with internal and external stakeholders

    • Ability to undertake data analysis, leverage metrics and learnings to improve OE performance outcomes

    • Problem-solving and gap resolution skills

    • Strong oral and written communication skills

    • Strong computing and use of Microsoft applications skills (i.e. excel, word, outlook, teams, etc.)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior experience working collaboratively with regulators

    • Ability to simplify complex regulatory information for stakeholders

    • Prior experience conducting in person training with workers

    Relocation Options:

    Relocation **may be** considered within Chevron parameters.

The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on his or her skills, experience, and qualifications. Please note that the compensation and benefits listed below are only applicable to successful candidates who are hired onto local United States payroll.

    + The anticipated salary range for this position is $101,700 - $175,200
