Introduction
IBM Z Washington System Center (WSC)’s mission is to drive IBM Z platform adoption, growth and retention with deep technical expertise in new and existing IBM Z capabilities. The WSC Subject Matter Experts act as consultative, trusted advisors to IBM account teams, business partners, and IBM Z clients. Our experts establish best practices and develop scalable, reusable demos, tools, methodologies and enablement content for IBM Z. We showcase and use these assets to upskill the IBM Z community by mentoring, instructing, and advising clients, business partners and IBMers. Our SMEs are key partners for product development including Early Support Programs and critical situation support. We also perform economics analysis, execute competitive performance benchmarks and comprehensive IBM Z health checks.
Your role and responsibilities
As an IBM Technical Enablement Specialist intern, you will collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) on IBM z/OS Connect and Liberty projects.
In this role, you will:
• Assist in the development and delivery of hands-on labs and demo assets for new-to-market offerings
• Gain practical experience with IBM z/OS solutions
• Participate in product demonstrations
• Support customer enablement efforts to drive adoption of IBM software

Required technical and professional expertise
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills
o Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
o Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
o Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
o Quick learner with the ability to adopt new technologies and tools
o Self-motivated and resourceful in approaching challenges
o Technical presentation skills
o Completed course work or projects involving programming/scripting languages such as Java, XML, JSON or YAML
o Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred technical and professional experience
o Familiarity with IBM Z platform, Security concepts, and OpenAPI
o Exposure to mainframe technologies such as JCL, z/OS, TSO, ISPF, and z/OS Subsystems
o Completed of an IBM Z introductory course or IBM Z Xplore learning
o Knowledge in mainframe modernization tools and techniques
