    Job Summary

    The Department of Radiology at the University of Michigan is seeking applications for a Research Investigator position in its Nuclear Medicine Division. Emphasis will be placed on applicants with a strong record of research accomplishment in one or more of the following areas: radiation dosimetry, pharmacokinetic modeling, PET and SPECT image reconstruction, Monte Carlo modeling and use of artificial intelligence in Medical Imaging.

    The Nuclear Medicine Dosimetry group has an excellent record of NIH and industry funded research in imaging and dosimetry related to radiopharmaceutical therapy. The candidate is expected to participate in the current projects as well as to develop innovative ideas and independent research projects to seek extramural funding. The ability to work in a multi-disciplinary collaborative environment is important along with excellent oral and written communication skills. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

    Desired Qualifications*

    The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications: Ph. D. degree in Medical Physics or Nuclear/Electrical/Computer Engineering. Postdoc training in a related field is also required. A demonstrated research/publication capability, and academic track record. Experienced in radiation dosimetry codes and their application in radiopharmaceutical therapy and good computer programming skills are required. Proficiency in Monte Carlo methods and Deep Learning methods is highly recommended.

    Background Screening

     

    Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
