About Dayton-Granger, Inc. (DG)
With more than 82 years of excellence in aviation, Dayton-Granger, Inc. (DG) designs and manufactures proprietary aircraft antennas, electrostatic dischargers, and lightning protection systems used across commercial, military, and general aviation programs worldwide.
Located just four miles from Fort Lauderdale's beaches, DG is a third-generation, family-owned aerospace manufacturer known for engineering credibility, innovation, and collaboration. All design, testing, and manufacturing occur under one roof—allowing for unmatched quality, agility, and vertical integration.
About the Role
DG is seeking a Director of Engineering to serve as the company's senior technical leader—a strategic, hands-on executive guiding innovation, product development, and technical excellence across all product lines.
This role will lead a multidisciplinary team spanning RF, mechanical, systems, software, and test engineering, while shaping DG's technology roadmap and succession planning for long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
+ Define and execute DG's long-term technology strategy aligned with company growth goals.
+ Lead and scale a high-performing engineering organization focused on innovation, quality, and reliability.
+ Oversee all product design, development, testing, certification, and production transitions.
+ Drive implementation of emerging aerospace technologies (e.g., advanced materials, AI-driven modeling, connectivity).
+ Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, MIL-STD, DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, and AS9100.
+ Strengthen design control, documentation, and configuration management processes.
+ Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure production readiness and design integrity.
+ Manage departmental budgets, staffing, and capital priorities.
+ Represent DG's technical vision to customers, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
+ Mentor and develop engineering talent to support leadership continuity.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (Electrical highly preferred); Master's or Ph.D. preferred but not required.
+ 15+ years of progressive aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing experience.
+ 5+ years in senior engineering leadership, managing multidisciplinary teams.
+ Proven success leading end-to-end avionics or antenna system development.
+ Strong knowledge of RF design, embedded systems, and aerospace certification standards.
+ Skilled in balancing technical depth with strategic leadership and team development.
+ Excellent communication and organizational leadership skills.
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR/EAR requirement).
Why Join DG?
DG offers the rare ability to lead innovation from concept to production under one roof. As a long-standing family business, we prioritize stability, integrity, and long-term success over short-term gains.

+ Get It Done – accountable beyond expectations.
+ Positive Attitude – eliminate the static.
+ Stay on Course – do the right thing, even when nobody is watching.
