Position Summary...
As a Staff Risk Expert, you have a critical role in shaping the company's technology and information security policies. As a key contributor to our Global Tech Policy 2.0 initiative, you will challenge existing practices and seek opportunities to enhance our policy and controls management program. You will leverage AI and automation tools to drive efficiencies throughout the development, authoring, and revision of technology and information security policies. By engaging with stakeholder groups, you will proactively question the status quo, assess emerging risks, and design innovative risk management strategies that advance Walmart’s commitment to secure and resilient technology systems.
About the team:
Join Walmart’s Global Tech Policy & Security Advisors Team as a senior contributor shaping technology and information security policies for the world’s largest retailer. Members collaborate across functions to identify risks, streamline governance, and implement effective security measures. The team values continuous improvement, leveraging expertise in risk analysis, stakeholder management, and cyber security to protect business operations and drive innovation. Your forward-thinking approach will ensure our policies not only protect the company but also set new standards for effectiveness and agility in a rapidly evolving landscape.
What you'll do...
+ Leading AI and automation within each phase of the policy and controls management lifecycle through low code/no code agent creation and GenAI prompting.
+ Drafting and refining policies, standards, and controls using clear, enforceable language and aligning with Global Tech and InfoSec strategy, risk appetite, and compliance frameworks.
+ Supporting a structured governance model and maintaining the RACI matrix for policy ownership across stakeholders.
+ Managing policy intake workflows, exception handling, and operating GRC tools.
+ Leading efforts to measure policy effectiveness
+ Leading process improvement to align policies to business needs and global market adoption.
+ Providing expert guidance and interpretation on domestic and international technology compliance standards best practices.
What you'll bring:
+ Robust understanding of technology compliance standards and emerging risks within technology and information security.
+ Proven experience in developing, writing, and updating policy documents to align with market specific compliance and business needs.
+ Experience in leading business process improvement and implementation projects.
+ Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with and influence multiple stakeholder groups.
+ Experience with various technologies, including AI.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and develop strategic mitigation strategies.
+ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and agile way of working to improve the Global Tech Policy & Security Advisors team’s service to Walmart.

Bentonville, Arkansas US-10735: The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
Herndon, Virginia US-10710: The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 4years’ experience in cybersecurity risk or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
Option 2: 6 years’ experience in cybersecurity risk or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.

Certification in Security+, GISF, GSEC, CISA, CISSP, CCSP, or CISM, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related area and 2 years’ experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects, We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
