Overview

The Mammography Technologist assists physicians by preparing patients and operating mammography equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. This role plays a key part in supporting accurate diagnosis and providing compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare and position patients for mammography procedures

+ Operate mammography equipment to capture diagnostic images

+ Assist physicians with diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures as needed

+ Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and protocols

+ Adapt procedures based on patient age and individual needs

+ Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation

+ Provide clear communication and compassionate care to patients

+ Support Novant Health’s mission by fostering a safe, inclusive, and patient-centered environment

Qualifications

+ Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program (required)

+ Associate degree (preferred)

+ ARRT certification and registration in Radiography and Mammography – RT(R)(M) (required)

+ ARRT certification in Bone Densitometry – RT(R)(M)(BD) (preferred)

+ Applicable state licensure (required)

+ One year of mammography experience (preferred)
