    Nurse Manager - Same Day Surgery

     

    We’re looking for an experienced Nurse Manager to oversee the Same Day Surgery unit consisting of 37 Pre Op/Post Op patient rooms. Lead our dynamic team, ensuring exceptional patient care and operational excellence.

     

    Work Schedule: Varies based on unit needs, Monday - Friday 7am - 5pm

     

    On call support required rotating every 7 - 8 weeks

     

    Department: Surgical Services, 60 Full Time Team Members

    Responsibilities

    +

     

    + Analyzes OAS and patient experience scores to identify trends.

    + Understanding true patient assessment escalation is essential for allocating additional resources effectively.

    + Seasoned, strategic leader who consistently over-communicates with staff, explaining the “why” behind actions to foster engagement.

    + Translate data into actionable plans targeting patient experience and surgical site infections.

    + Leads committees and reporting efforts with clear, audience-appropriate communication.

    + Builds collaboration and teamwork with subordinates, peers, and sister departments.

    + A results-driven leader who delivers on expectations, ensuring highly efficient unit operations.

    Key Skillsets:

    Oversee daily operations of the Same Day Surgery department to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care delivery

     

    + Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff; manage hiring, training, and scheduling

    + Develop, update, and enforce policies, procedures, and protocols for endoscopy services

    + Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and safety guidelines

    + Coordinate multidisciplinary care involving physicians, technicians, and other healthcare professionals

    + Manage budgeting, resource allocation, and inventory of medical supplies and endoscopy equipment

    + Monitor patient outcomes and quality indicators; lead quality improvement and safety initiatives

    + Facilitate ongoing staff education, training, and professional development specific to endoscopy nursing

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate excels at interpreting patient experience data to identify root causes and develop innovative, impactful programs that enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction. You are a partner-driven collaborator , skilled at building and nurturing synergistic relationships with providers and multidisciplinary teams. Your leadership fosters a culture of excellence, driving exceptional quality care and continuous improvement in patient services.

     

    + Education: 4 Year bachelor's degree in nursing.

    + Experience: Two years clinical RN experience in an acute care setting.

    + Licensure/certification/registration: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. Board certification in area of practice, preferred.

    + Preferred requirements: Master's degree in nursing. Two years demonstrated leadership. Three years clinical RN experience in an acute care setting.

    + Additional skills required: Understands and applies: current and future trends/practice in area of responsibility; regulatory and governing standards, policies and procedures; information systems and software used in area of responsibility; equipment used in performing assigned duties; application of safety and infection control policies and procedures; skills in interviewing and selection process; understanding of budgeting, staffing, payroll and purchasing processes; implementation of competency, feedback, development and progressive discipline processes; teambuilding, conflict management, and interpersonal relationship skills; principles of adult learning and teaching methods/models; decision making, project leadership and consultation, delegation and communication skills; customer needs and expectations and knowledge for improvement to exceed customer expectations; principles of change management.
