Job Title: Fiber Splicer

Job Description

As a Fiber Splicer, you will splice various types and sizes of fiber optic cable, including single-mode, multimode, stranded, and ribbon. You will analyze and troubleshoot basic technical issues, review and interpret maps, drawings, blueprints, and testing documents. You will perform daily tests, checks, and maintenance on splicing and testing equipment, conduct optical continuity and conformance testing, and make splicing rearrangements on existing facilities in buried, underground, aerial, and building work locations.

Responsibilities

+ Splice various types and sizes of fiber optic cables.

+ Analyze and troubleshoot basic technical issues.

+ Review and interpret maps, drawings, blueprints, and testing documents.

+ Perform daily tests, checks, and maintenance on splicing and testing equipment.

+ Conduct optical continuity and conformance testing.

+ Make splicing rearrangements on existing facilities in various work locations.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in construction, splicing, and ribbon splicing.

+ Ability to work with underground construction, single-mode, multimode, stranded, and ribbon fiber cables.

+ Proficiency in OTDR and Power Meter Testing.

+ Skill in reading blueprints and schematics.

+ Experience in ribbon splicing and terminations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in telecom, underground construction, and splicing.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
