Job Title: Maintenance Planner
Job Description
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities on the second shift, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday. This role involves providing administrative support to the Sr Facility Engineering Manager by managing the overall preventative maintenance program, work orders, special projects, and general departmental activities. The Maintenance Planner plays a crucial role in driving continuous improvement across the maintenance department.
Responsibilities
+ Work independently or as a team member with minimal supervision.
+ Maintain confidentiality while working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
+ Interact comfortably with personnel at all organizational levels.
+ Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in daily tasks and projects.
+ Monitor and schedule preventive maintenance (PM) activities through the CMMS, based on due dates and production needs.
+ Coordinate with production scheduling, maintenance supervisors, and operations to ensure equipment availability for PM and work order activities.
+ Act as the system administrator for the plant CMMS, ensuring work and parts information remains accurate and up to date.
+ Supervise parts room clerks and manage parts kitting for planned work.
+ Establish spare parts needs for PM and related activities.
+ Facilitate a safe work environment.
+ Monitor PM due dates through CMMS to ensure timely completion and drive uptime improvement.
+ Gather information to evaluate current work processes for flow, time requirements, costs, and duration.
+ Develop strategies and programs to improve productivity and efficiency.
+ Formalize PM programs, including tasks, frequency, time budgets, and materials required.
+ Optimize down days by scheduling PMs on production days whenever possible.
+ Maintain all PM records and order/track necessary parts.
+ Review completed work orders for accuracy and close upon successful review.
+ Generate and close work orders, verify resolution, and ensure timely documentation.
+ Report work order status to operations and maintenance teams continually.
+ Maintain stockroom organization and manage critical parts inventory.
+ Assist in special projects as required to ensure top quality products.
+ Fill in for Maintenance Shift Supervisor when necessary.
+ Send reports of PM completion periodically.
Essential Skills
+ Five years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the food industry.
+ Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Self-managed and highly motivated.
+ Good problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
+ Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, CMMS (MP2, SAP, etc.), and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
+ In-depth SAP preventative maintenance system experience is strongly preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED required.
+ Five years of maintenance experience in a high-speed production environment required.
+ Experience troubleshooting, reading blueprints, and working with electrical and mechanical systems.
+ Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.

Work in a GMP food manufacturing company with refrigerated areas maintained at 30-40 degrees. The company has been supplying quality custom meats to well-known restaurant chains and food companies since 1985. The pay range for this position is $60320.00 - $60320.00/yr.
