    Job Title: Quality Control Technician (Nights)

    Job Description

    The Quality Control Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity and quality of the manufacturing process by inspecting and verifying the quality of incoming parts and materials. This position is crucial in preventing defective parts from being used in production, thereby maintaining the specified standards and requirements.

    Responsibilities

    + Receive incoming parts and materials.

    + Verify part numbers, quantities, and documentation against purchase orders and delivery notes.

    + Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and any non-conformances.

    + Prepare detailed reports on findings and communicate with suppliers and internal teams regarding any issues.

    + Ensure that all received parts comply with company quality standards and customer requirements.

    + Implement and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for quality inspections.

    + Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

    + Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and production teams to resolve any quality issues.

    + Provide feedback and support to the production team regarding part quality and usability.

    + Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment to ensure accuracy.

    + Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or calibration needs.

    + Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.

    + Participate in safety training and contribute to a safe working environment.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Must Have Skills

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + 3-5 years of recent quality control experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.

    + Proficiency with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

    + Ability to read drawings (electrical, mechanical, and fabrication).

    + Ability to inspect parts for defects, damage, and conformity to specifications using various measuring tools and equipment.

    + Experience entering data in systemic inventory systems.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with inventory control.

    + Familiarity with quality inspection processes.

    + Experience with micrometers and calipers.

    + Understanding of quality control principles.

    Work Environment

     

    This position is based in a manufacturing environment, with 75% of the time spent on the shop floor and the remainder in an office setting. The role requires working night shifts from 4:00 PM to 3:00 AM, with mandatory overtime, including Saturdays and some Sundays.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $26.40 - $28.60/hr.
