Job Title: Electrical Technician
Job Description
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the successful installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical components associated with the facility and equipment related to the transfer and storage of bulk products.
Responsibilities
+ Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
+ Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
+ Connect wires to circuit transformers or other components.
+ Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with code.
+ Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as odometers and voltmeters to ensure system compatibility and safety.
+ Comply with the work order process and follow progress to ensure completion.
+ Assist in tracking maintenance costs and ensure objectives and costs are achieved within budgetary constraints.
+ Provide solutions to improve equipment performance by being a problem solver and creative thinker.
+ Advise terminal management of progress toward objectives and develop strategies for necessary adjustments.
+ Receive and maintain equipment documentation, including blueprints and technical manuals.
+ Work cooperatively with co-workers, customer representatives, regulators, and staff.
+ Track work and progress as trained and required.
Essential Skills
+ 3-5 years of experience in electrical troubleshooting and wiring.
+ Knowledge and use of a multimeter.
+ Understanding of input/output panels and their proper installation.
+ Ability to read phases of motors (480V, three-phase), repair, relay logic, VFD, 480V, motor.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in reactive maintenance to microswitches and motors.
+ Ability to work alongside carpenters and the maintenance team.

Work Environment
Work takes place on a terminal that is not climate controlled, exposing employees to various elements. The team consists of 10 maintenance technicians, including 2 electricians. The standard schedule is 6-2:30 until a ship arrives, necessitating a rotating 12-hour shift while the ship is being unloaded, which can last from 1 to 12 days.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.97/hr.
