    The Head Coach for Men-s and Women-s Cross Country is responsible for leading and administering all aspects of the cross-country programs. Primary responsibilities include recruiting and retaining quality student-athletes, coaching, practice and competition planning, scheduling, strength and conditioning coordination, and academic monitoring to promote student-athlete success. The Head Coach ensures adherence to all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations. Additionally, this position assists the Head Coach for Track & Field with program operations, including coaching, recruiting, scheduling, fundraising, and other assigned duties. The position reports directly to the Director of Cross Country/Track & Field.

    You will:

    + Lead and manage all aspects of the Men-s and Women-s Cross Country programs.

    + Plan, organize, and conduct practices, competitions, and conditioning sessions.

    + Recruit, evaluate, and retain qualified student-athletes who align with the University-s academic and athletic standards.

    + Supervise, mentor, and evaluate assistant coaches and support staff.

    + Assist with coaching, recruiting, and operations for the Track & Field programs.

    + Manage the program budget in a fiscally responsible manner.

    + Oversee academic support initiatives, including study hall and tutoring coordination.

    + Monitor the academic progress, class attendance, and eligibility of all student-athletes.

    + Ensure full compliance with University, Northeast Conference (NEC), and NCAA rules and regulations.

    + Promote behavior and decision-making that reflect the University-s core values and standards of integrity.

    + Collaborate effectively with athletics staff, faculty, and campus partners to support departmental and institutional goals.

    + Represent the University positively with alumni, community members, and the media.

    + Support the health, safety, and overall well-being of student-athletes through close collaboration with athletic training and support services.

    + Complete assigned administrative duties and reports accurately and in a timely manner.

    You need:

    + Bachelor-s degree required; Master-s degree preferred.

    + Minimum of two years of demonstrated successful coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level (collegiate experience preferred).

    + Knowledge of and commitment to compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.

    + Proven ability to recruit, develop, and mentor student-athletes.

    + Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and contribute to campus diversity and inclusion efforts.

    + Commitment to attend all scheduled practices, competitions, and related team activities.

    + Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
