    Job Title: Payroll Specialist

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist for a full-time, on-site position at our Fife, WA location. The working hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The role requires a pre-employment drug and background check. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for processing and reviewing weekly payroll for all hourly and salaried employees using ADP Workforce Now.

    Responsibilities

    + Ensure payroll accuracy by verifying hours, earnings, deductions, bonuses, and adjustments.

    + Manage payroll compliance with a strong understanding of Washington wage and hour laws, overtime rules, and state/local tax regulations.

    + Maintain payroll records and ensure timely updates to employee data, tax information, and direct deposits.

    + Collaborate with HR and Accounting to reconcile payroll data, benefit deductions, and general ledger entries.

    + Respond promptly to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality.

    + Support quarterly and year-end activities including W-2s, tax filings, and audits.

    + Stay current with payroll-related laws and ADP system enhancements to ensure continued compliance and efficiency.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + 2-3+ years of payroll processing experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.

    + Strong proficiency with ADP (Workforce Now preferred).

    + Experience processing payroll following Washington laws and regulations.

    + In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour compliance, and tax regulations.

    + Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.

    + Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with large data sets.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to confidentiality.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Knowledge of California laws and regulations is preferred, but not required.

    + Familiarity with Excel pivot tables and PowerBi.

    + Experience with payroll software.

    Work Environment

    A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and vapor from coolant.     This is a Contract position based out of Fife, Washington.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
