It also provides starting materials to therapeutic developers, and clinical research services. Its apheresis center received FACT accreditation in 2022 for peripheral blood cellular therapy product collection. As an AATB-accredited tissue bank, it offers tissue recovery from living and deceased donors._

    General Summary

    Provides critical administrative, operational and compliance support for the Tissue Operations department, including birth tissue and cord blood collections, cadaveric tissue recovery, and tissue distribution.

     

    This role assists with maintaining documentation integrity, supportsupporting staff training and credentialing efforts, coordinating with internal teams for supply and equipment needs and driving process improvement initiatives.

    Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.

     

    Major Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential Tasks

    Assist in writing, revising, and maintaining SOPs and other controlled documents to ensure operational clarity, consistency, and regulatory compliance.

     

    Maintain documentation and tracking for tissue activities, including training records, credentialing logs, and equipment maintenance logs.

     

    Maintain accurate records in system platforms such as iTransplant, IntTakeQ, eQuailty Management System, and others; generate reports and support system integration initiatives.

     

    Assist with equipment calibration, maintenance, validation, and quality control.

     

    Identify operational and organizational improvements that should be made using an evidence-based approach and facilitate the initiation of, adoption of, and adaptation to change.

     

    Maintain and schedule annual training competencies and credentialling for staff members.

     

    Support supply inventory tracking and courier coordination in collaboration with operations and vendors.

     

    Assist staff in the review of paperwork related to collections and procedures, as necessary.

     

    Establish and maintain working relationships with organizations and businesses on behalf of STBT.

     

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Non-Essential Tasks

    Run departmental errands as directed.

     

    Support cross-department projects as directed.

    Education

    Requires an Associate Degree from an accredited college or university with equivalent healthcare, quality or tissue banking experience may be considered.

     

    Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

     

    The preferred major of Life MeSciences,Healthcare Administration, Quality/Regulatory or Business.

     

    Licenses and/or CertificationsValid Driver's License

    Experience

    Requires two or more years in tissue banking, organ/tissue donation, healthcare operations or quality/compliance-related role.

     

    Requires prior experience with documentation systems (e.g., iTransplant, MasterControl, IntakeQ, or similar eQMS/LIMS).

     

    Knowledge

     

    Must have a strong understanding of FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 1271, AATB standards, and Good Tissue Practices (GTP) preferred.

     

    Must possess working knowledge of inventory, logistics, and cold-chain supply practices in a healthcare/tissue environment

     

    Must obtain a working knowledge of regulatory/quality requirements and perform within all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.

     

    Must have previous work experience with Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.

     

    Must maintain knowledge of ISO Standards, cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and regulatory requirements concerning creation and maintenance of controlled documents and record retention.

     

    Must have a working knowledge of department procedures and work within the guidelines of the standard operating policies and procedures.

     

    Skills

     

    Must have excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

     

    Must be capable of operating motor vehicles in all types of weather conditions.

     

    Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

     

    Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft SOPs, reports, and training documentation clearly.

     

    Must have experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint and Excel.

     

    Must be capable of communicating well with multiple level audiences.

     

    Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to include grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

     

    Must be able to understand complex donor information and be able to enter into database with speed and accuracy.

     

    Problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
