    The Position

    The position serves as the lead of Clinical Data Science & Evidence (CDSE) operations. In their role, they will lead operations across CDSE. The individual in this role will provide oversight and guidance to projects of strategic importance and be responsible for communicating relevant information within CDSE and to internal stakeholders. Their duties include leading operational activities across CDSE functional and therapeutic teams including processes, governance, department meetings, CDSE initiatives, KPI tracking, as well as engaging across NNI functions such as communications, training, finance, etc. This includes leading departmental meetings, agenda setting, facilitating and managing action items for the leadership team and department meetings and providing the leadership team and the department with important company information to prepare them for upcoming meetings or presentations.

     

    Relationships

     

    This position reports to the Vice President of CDSE and maintains a high level of connectivity to the CDSE LT and CMR EA group. This position works with related functions across CMR as well as Market Access and Public Affairs, Marketing and Commercial Effectiveness, Legal, Finance and IT to ensure strategic coordination across the organization with respect to CDSE deliverables and operations. External relationships include interactions with various vendors and consultants based on the needs of special projects.

    Essential Functions

    + Ensure CDSE alignment on engagements in CMR LT and PDP Forum Meetings

    + Develop and deliver key deliverables including monthly CDSE status reporting against target objectives and KPIs

    + Represents CDSE in operational forums across NNI, ensuring strategic alignment among related functions with CDSE operations

    + Support for annual and long-term strategic planning: Set up the annual strategy to action (S2A) process of making sure the departmental strategy is aligned to the overall CMR and NNI organizational strategy; working with CDSE LT, updates CMR and CDSE Strategy2Action (S2A) quarterly

    + Support of CDSE led strategic initiatives as well as other cross-functional initiatives focusing on strategic planning, organizational development and/or cross-functional collaboration

    + Develops agendas for monthly and quarterly meetings, determining agenda topics, driving meeting flow and ensuring follow-up to agreed-upon action items to include coordinating with other support and strategic functions

    + Builds and maintains trusting, collaborative relationship and alliances with others inside and outside of the organization, which help accomplish key business objectives

    + Serve as a liaison between staff, senior leaders, stakeholders and VP with other operational units across NNI and global functions; Drive effective decision-making within CDSE senior leadership

    + Support development and maintenance of CDSE functional stakeholder mapping

    + Other support as needed including culture activities and creation of meeting materials

    + Develop and ensure execution of CDSE communication plans in partnership with CDSE functional and TA leadership to ensure understanding and alignment to NN Corporate, NNI and CDSE strategies and goals

    + Ensure CDSE departmental activities and strategic objectives are appropriately translated and understood across the organization

    + Develop and maintain NNI CDSE SharePoint site and operational systems and tools to ensure governance compliance

    + Responsible for CDSE internal and external newsletter development and dissemination as well as other training engagements and communications activities through engagements with CDSE functions and TA teams and associated NN functions

    Physical Requirements

    10-20% overnight travel required. This position is NJ or MA office based.

    Qualifications

    + A minimum of a Master’s degree required, preferably in appropriate healthcare-related field (health economics, epidemiology, outcomes research, public health, health services research, biostatistics, medicine, clinical research, biomedical sciences)

    + Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and industry R&D processes

    + Requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in similar clinical/medical/research departments in Pharmaceutical Industry, in health care consulting, etc.

    + Demonstrated excellent communication (written, verbal and presentations) and stakeholder management skills with cross-functional team interaction

    + Excellent collaborator with ability to build and maintain relationships with people at all levels of the organization

    + Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, execute and follow-up in a timely manner. Proven ability to work across all functions with all levels of stakeholders both locally and globally

    + Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and deliver under tight timelines

    + Strong project management skills

    + Strong collaboration skills, strong relationship building and stakeholder management. Flexibility to meet business needs while moving key initiatives and priorities forward

    + Strong analytical capabilities and ability to synthesize complex information into user-friendly, persuasive formats and presentations

    + Excellent computer skills and strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint

    + Self-confident with a growth-mindset and continually focused on process improvement, innovation and results. Ability to engender trust and respect of peers and superiors

    + Presentable, highly articulate, goal-oriented, with high integrity and strong ethics

    + Prior experience in synthesizing complex information into concise, effective deliverables

    + Prior experience influencing effectively in a matrixed, global environment

    The base compensation range for this position is $148,290 to $259,510. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance.

     

    Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
