    Some of what you'll be doing:

    This position is designated for Evening/Night Shift coverage. The regular schedule is Saturday from 3:00 pm – 1:30 am, and Sunday through Tuesday from 3:30 pm – 2:00 am, with Wednesday through Friday off. Candidates must be available and willing to work during evening and overnight hours as part of their standard work schedule.

     

    As the Landside Transportation Specialist, you will facilitate safe and contractually compliant commercial Ground Transportation (GT) operations by enforcing rules and regulations, educating and advising drivers, and providing support to operators and the traveling public.

     

    + You will impose transportation-related rules and regulations of the Port of Seattle by issuing citations and warnings to non-compliant commercial transportation operators.

    + You will maintain contact with regulatory agencies such as Department of Licensing, Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission, and Department of Revenue to identify and support changes in government regulations affecting GT functions and ensure current Port policies, procedures, and processes comply.

    + You will facilitate optimum working relations with operators by educating operators/drivers on Port of Seattle Ground Transportation policies and procedures.

    + You will monitor the activity of Transportation Network Companies and GT operations to include commercial operator and passenger activity, and traffic flow through onsite inspections and closed-circuit TV.

    + You will conduct quarterly inspections and audits for the Port’s On-Demand Taxis to maintain contract and regulatory compliance.

    + You will assist with permit sales by collecting required documents and maintaining digital filing in SharePoint and Veoci.

    + You will evaluate and design process improvement initiatives to apply lean processes for increased efficiency, productivity, and quality of service for permit sales and operator check-ins.

    + You will provide wayfinding for passengers and operators and advise the traveling public on accommodations, travel routes, and ground transportation options.

    + You will collaborate with other teams to disseminate information to all commercial operators and assist with incident and emergency response and reports for incidents in the parking garage and Ground Transportation locations.

    + You will train new hires to manage the day-to-day operations of the department and oversee parking area for all contractors who have employees working on the 3rd floor of the garage to ensure compliance with guidelines.

    Who you are:

    + **Experienced** – You have two (2) years of customer service experience in an airport operations or transportation environment.

    + **Desired** – We hope you have a Traffic Control Flagger Certification.

    + **Tactful** – You can quickly resolve operator or customer issues, carefully focusing on operational continuity. You can resolve interpersonal conflicts professionally.

    What else you need to know:

    + **Work Schedule** – Your normal work schedule will be Sunday through Tuesday from 3:30 pm to 2 am, and Saturdays from 3:00 pm to 1:30 am. You will have Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays off. You may be required to work during emergencies to address any issues that could adversely impact Port operations.

    + **Work Environment** – You will primarily work in an office environment half the time, and the remainder of the time you will be outside in the parking garage or at one of our remote locations.

    + **Washington State Residency Requirement** – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.

    + **Overtime Eligible** – You are eligible for overtime pay in this role.

    + **Security Requirements** – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
