ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize Building Envelope, a global leader in building materials and solutions, is seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team. This position is crucial for ensuring the integrity and compliance of our products and services by developing and managing our supplier base, addressing quality issues, and promoting continual improvement practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reducing risks, assuring product and process conformity, and enhancing customer satisfaction through effective quality management.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
+ Guide and develop suppliers to ensure their processes support the quality of products and services provided to Amrize and our customers.
+ Initiate and implement strategies that improve supplier performance and reliability.
+ Conduct audits on new suppliers or those identified through Quality Product Reports (QPRs) or other indicators.
+ Assess supplier capabilities, quality systems, and processes to ensure they meet Amrize's standards.
+ Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing sites, inventory management, and procurement teams to resolve QPRs and other product orservice issues promptly.
+ Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
+ Address and resolve customer complaints related to supplier quality.
+ Work closely with suppliers to identify root causes andimplement corrective measures.
+ Act as the back-up for the Customer Quality Engineer for limited support during absences.
+ Maintain and submit monthly reports on QPRs, supplier performance metrics, and quality improvement initiatives.
+ Ensure accurate and timely documentation to facilitate decision-making.
+ Escalate unresolved quality issues to the Senior Supplier Quality Engineer and, if necessary, to the Director of Quality Assurance for further action.
+ Identify and promote continuous improvement opportunities to reduce complexity, rework, and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
+ Promote and maintain the company's Quality Management System and procedures in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
+ Conduct regular internal audits and support the Quality Management System Manager to ensure success of the QMS.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
+ Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or a related field.
+ Proven experience in quality engineering or a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
+ Familiarity with building materials and envelope solutions is a plus.
+ Six Sigma certification is ideal.
+ Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management system certification is preferred.
+ Strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC), Capability Indices (Cpk), and Design of Experiments (DOE).
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with suppliers, team members, and stakeholders across different levels of the organization.
+ Ability to analyze data, understand trends, and make data-driven decisions.
