• HPC/Supercomputing Architect

    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly experienced HPC Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of high-performance computing environments. This role is ideal for someone with deep technical expertise in supercomputing systems, parallel computing architectures, and large-scale data processing, who can drive innovation and performance across scientific, engineering, or enterprise workloads.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Architect and implement scalable HPC solutions tailored to complex computational workloads.

     

    Design and optimize supercomputing environments including compute clusters, storage systems, interconnects, and job scheduling frameworks.

     

    Collaborate with research, engineering, and IT teams to define system requirements and performance goals.

     

    Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies (e.g., GPUs, accelerators, high-speed interconnects) to enhance system capabilities.

     

    Lead performance tuning, benchmarking, and workload profiling to ensure optimal system efficiency.

     

    Provide technical leadership in system upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.

     

    Support users and stakeholders with guidance on HPC best practices, software stack optimization, and troubleshooting.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Proven experience architecting and managing HPC or supercomputing environments.

     

    Strong knowledge of parallel computing, distributed systems, and cluster management.

    Expertise in HPC technologies such as:

    Slurm, PBS, or other job schedulers

     

    MPI, OpenMP, CUDA, or similar frameworks

     

    Lustre, GPFS, or other parallel file systems

     

    Familiarity with hardware architectures including x86, ARM, GPU-based systems, and high-speed networking (InfiniBand, Ethernet).

     

    Experience with Linux system administration and scripting (Bash, Python).

     

    Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related field.

     

    Experience supporting scientific research or enterprise-scale HPC workloads.

     

    Knowledge of cloud-based HPC solutions (e.g., AWS ParallelCluster, Azure CycleCloud).

     

    Experience with containerization in HPC environments (e.g., Singularity, Docker).
