Engineering Technician to support the Electromagnetic Effects (E3) Engineering Program, focused on F-18 and EA-18G Growler aircraft at NAS Patuxent River, Maryland. This role involves hands-on technical work related to aircraft systems, weapons integration, and electromagnetic effects testing and evaluation. The ideal candidate will have experience with F-18/Growler platforms, weapons systems, and maintenance or testing in a high-security, military aviation environment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
+ Perform hands-on inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of F-18 and EA-18G Growler aircraft systems.
+ Support weapons systems integration, testing, and functional verification. Assist in diagnosing malfunctions related to avionics, sensors, communications, and electromagnetic systems.
+ Set up, calibrate, and operate test equipment for electromagnetic compatibility and effects testing. Assist engineers in conducting EME experiments, including RF exposure, EMI/EMC measurements, and signal testing.
+ Document test conditions, configurations, and results accurately in compliance with NAVAIR standards.
+ Assist engineers in evaluating design modifications or system upgrades.
+ Prepare reports, technical drawings, and test documentation to support engineering decisions.
+ Provide feedback on technical procedures and recommend improvements to test protocols.
+ Additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
+ Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret clearance
+ Must have a High School Diploma/GED.
+ 5+ years of experience.
+ Hands-on experience with F-18 or EA-18G Growler aircraft systems.
+ Experience supporting weapons systems, including integration, maintenance, or operational testing.
+ Knowledge of electrical, electronic, or avionics systems relevant to military aircraft.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience supporting NAVAIR
+ Prior experience in Electromagnetic Effects (EME), EMI/EMC, or RF testing.
+ Experience with automated test equipment, diagnostic tools, or lab measurement systems.
This is an SCA Position. Pay Rate is dependent on experience.
Engineering Technician III $28.79, Engineering Technician IV $ 35.64, Engineering Technician V $43.61
