    Description

    The Division of Advancement and Alumni Engagement utilizes resources, technology, and business for the purpose of constituent engagement, donor research and solicitation, and stewardship throughout Emory University and Health Systems. We are currently seeking a Senior Associate Donor Experience Officer.

     

    The Donor Experience Academy is an immersive onboarding, training and development program for individuals who are seeking a career in major gift fundraising at Emory University. Donor Experience Officers (DXOs) are frontline development officers leveraging digital technology to cultivate, solicit and steward donors. This program is designed to develop future major gift officers who may be considered for assignment as a school/unit development officer pending successful completion of the program. The program will consist of concurrent overlapping modules that will provide intensive exposure to all areas of the division while participants actively acquire and hone the skills to be a successful Donor Experience Officer (DXO). This position will report to the Executive Director, Donor Experience Academy.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Develops and executes strategies for qualifying, cultivating, and successfully soliciting individuals for gifts at the leadership annual giving level and referring mid/major gift prospects to appropriate school and unit colleagues.

    + Coordinates solicitation and stewardship strategies with centralized efforts lead by Annual Giving and Donor Relations.

    + Manages a portfolio of prospects through an active schedule of qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship communications with portfolio entities.

    + Builds 1:1 relationship with current and prospective donors, alumni, and volunteers to support programs and institutional priorities.

    + Builds collaborative relationships with Directors of Development in schools and units based for pipeline building and major gift referrals ($100k+).

    + Manages incoming referrals from school and unit colleagues for the purpose of qualification or portfolio management for leadership annual gift prospects disqualified for current major gift classification.

    + Writes and edits communication materials directed at donors.

    + Develops strategies for marketing new and existing programs.

    + Maintains information on selected donors and prospects including activity reports in CRM system.

    + Leverages technology stack to execute times and strategic donor communications and outreach.

    + Communicates in ways that are donor-centric, while furthering the mission of Emory.

    + May travel to meet with donors as needed.

    + Performs related responsibilities as required.

    ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS: In addition to the duties outlined above, the Donor Experience Officer may be required to:

    + Meet division metrics for individual and team fundraising, visit preparation, qualification, activity reports, visits, referrals, and accurate coding using the CRM system.

    + Represent the department, school/unit, division, Health System or University.

    + Lead team projects, moves management, metrics, and data analysis for program evaluation.

    + This position requires coming in person two days a week.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + A bachelor's degree and four years of experience in fundraising, or related field.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Successful candidates will possess experience closing gifts between $1,000-$25,000 from prospects.

    + Prior experience working with comprehensive campaigns, alumni engagement, or in a university setting.

    + Experience working with various technologies including advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, cloud-based platforms, database and project management software, and CRM systems.

    + An aptitude in mastering new software, applications, and technologies.

    + Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving skills with attention to detail, the ability to work with ambiguity, navigate a complex work environment, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    + The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to achieve goals with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as effective presentation skills.

    + Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.

    + Possess a high level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality with sound judgment and discretion.

     

    NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
