Who we are
The School of Engineering Medicine in collaboration with Texas A&M College of Engineering, Texas A&M School of Medicine and the state’s top-ranked Houston Methodist Hospital offer an innovative medical school program called ENMED. This program was established to transform healthcare through translational interdisciplinary research, the development of medical technologies, and the development and training of “Physicianeers.” ENMED delivers a revolutionary blended curriculum with focus on innovation and entrepreneurship where students receive a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Engineering degree in the same four years.
What you need to know
Salary: $68,330.50 - 70,547.40 annually, compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s education and experience.

The Program Specialist III, under general supervision, performs moderately complex administrative and supervisory work.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in applicable field
+ Four years of administrative, program support, program coordination, academic services, or closely related experience
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master’s degree
+ Experience in higher education
+ Experience working in academic engineering departments and/or medical education
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
+ Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
+ Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgement
Responsibilities
Support Programmatic Processes Related to Academic Services
+ Provide logistical support for student Innovation Immersion Experiences (IIE)
+ Schedule IIE courses and register students in the correct corresponding IIE sections
+ Manage IIE evaluations from students and faculty
+ Confirm timely and complete faculty grading of all IIEs
+ Assist faculty with IIE workflow processes
+ Oversee the Credit by Exam process for IIE medical elective credit
+ Oversee EnMed student graduation clearance process
+ Oversee the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data
+ Provide guidance and support to graduate students on various academic and administrative matters
+ Assist with confirming accessibility of all engineering documentation
+ Confirm appropriate student research training requirements
+ Provide logistical support for other engineering courses as needed
Enhance Operational Efficiency
+ Improve Laserfiche processes for increased efficiency
+ Assist faculty with graduate program data collection
+ Provide oversight of relevant Program Coordinators
+ Confers with staff on program issues and problems and recommends solutions
+ Prepares and reviews reports on the effectiveness of program activities
+ Attends meetings and conferences to discuss progress
Support Quality and Outcome Measures
+ Assist faculty with program development grounded in current theory, research, and evidence-based practice
+ Ensure quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against targeted goals, recommending modifications that respond to students’ needs and interests
+ Collect outcome data to fulfill program/grant requirements
