    We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, technical drawings, and installation instructions for plumbing and fire protection systems. You will ensure that our engineering deliverables meet project scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations while collaborating with various stakeholders to produce integrated and cohesive system designs.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, technical drawings, and installation instructions for plumbing and fire protection systems.

    + Perform equipment selection and sizing calculations for system components such as pumps, piping, fixtures, and fire suppression systems.

    + Review vendor submittals and product data to ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and performance requirements.

    + Collaborate with construction teams to assess field conditions, sequencing, and constructability of design solutions.

    + Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders to ensure integrated and cohesive system designs.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in plumbing design and fire protection systems.

    + Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and other engineering tools.

    + 4–7 years of relevant experience in plumbing and fire protection system design.

    + Solid understanding of plumbing codes and NFPA standards.

    + Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

    + Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Familiarity with building codes, particularly in Chicago.

    + Experience mentoring junior engineers.

    + Ability to review vendor equipment selections and ensure compliance with local and national regulations.

    Work Environment

    The position is based in Chicago, across from the Willis Tower. Our team consists of 28 members with plans for growth. We offer a hybrid work schedule, with the option to work remotely on Fridays. Employees typically work 40-45 hours a week.     This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, Illinois.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
