    Job Title: Grinder Operator

    Job Description

    Join our fabrication department as a Grinder Operator, where you will play a crucial role in preparing newly welded parts for the finishing process. This hands-on position involves using a small handheld grinding tool to smooth out metal surfaces, ensuring they are ready for painting. Although the work may not be glamorous, it offers a fantastic opportunity for those eager to work hard and earn competitive pay. No prior experience is needed, as comprehensive training will be provided.

    Responsibilities

    + Remove all weld spatter and smooth metals to prepare them for painting.

    + Utilize a handheld grinder to achieve a smooth finish on metal parts.

    + Move materials as necessary to facilitate the fabrication process.

    + Wear protective personal equipment (PPE) to safeguard against sparks during grinding.

    Essential Skills

    + Ability to operate small electric grinding tools.

    + Experience in mechanical assembly and metal fabrication.

    + Proficient with hand and power tools.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Preferably 6 months of fabrication experience, with grinding experience being advantageous.

    + A history of stable employment, even if outside manufacturing.

    + Mechanical aptitude and effective communication skills.

    + No more than three job changes in the past 18 months.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a comfortable metal fabrication area that remains pleasant in the winter and can become warm in the summer. On hotter days, mandatory breaks are provided with refreshments to ensure hydration. The grinding area operates with a close-knit team of 4-6 individuals, where teamwork is valued, but most tasks are performed independently.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anoka, Minnesota

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
