    Job Description

    Job Summary: Medical Material Specialist (MMS)

     

    The Medical Material Specialist (MMS) provides essential warehouse and logistics support for medical readiness operations and supply chain activities. This includes receiving, storing, inventory management, packing, and shipping of general and specialized materials and equipment. The position requires a detail-oriented and highly proficient individual that can adhere to published standards and guidance directed in local Standard Operating Procedures, government guidelines, regulations, and publications.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Provide warehouse support for logistics including receiving, shipping, storing, selecting, packing, unpacking, and inventory.

    + Perform inventory and documentation using DMLSS or other military databases; adjust stock levels and support disposal processes.

    + Review, stock, and re-supply medical logistics items, removing expired items from shelves or kits.

    + Perform quality control on transaction records and file documents promptly.

    + Research quality assurance messages using DMLSS or other military databases.

    + Review documents to ensure completeness and resolve inconsistencies or missing information.

    + Perform receiving duties including unloading, processing shipments, and segregating materials by type.

    + Support inventory control tasks including counting, handling, examining, packing, and operating MHE.

    + Perform platform stowing of material assigned to each EXMED platform for rapid deployment.

    + Perform Pick, Pack, Preserve, and Crate (PPP&C) duties for EXMEDS using standard packing methods.

    + Perform administrative tasks including word processing, data entry, email transmission, and document management.

    + Maintain general warehouse cleanliness and perform maintenance activities.

    Qualifications:

    + 5+ years of experience in logistics or medical warehouse operations.

    + Proficiency in DMLSS or similar systems.

    + High School Diploma or equivalent required.

    + Valid Driver’sLicense may be required

    + Forklift Certification

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:

    • Must be comfortable wearing Personal Protective Equipment during the duty day (steel-toe shoes, hard hat, hearing protection, etc.)

    • Must be able to work a light to moderate physical effort.

    • Requirements include walking, standing, reaching, bending, and moving items.

    • May require lifting and carrying weight over 45 pounds.

    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

    • Work is performed on hard surfaces.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Work is performed in a warehouse or distribution environment with forklifts, material handling and production equipment. May be exposed to noise from equipment and depending on external weather conditions exposure to heat, cold, wind, and rain.
