    Job Title: New Product and Process Integrations Manager

     

    Classification: Exempt

     

    Grade: Manager

     

    Department: Operations

     

    Reports To: Director, Assembly & Product Finishing

    SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

    The New Product and Process Integrations (NPPI) Manager is a professional staff leader tasked with developing strategies and tactics to lead and / or facilitate cross function teams to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost throughout the enterprise using lean six sigma tools. Additionally, the (NPPI) Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing the completion of projects such as new product launches and line extensions of current platforms within the organization. The (NPPI)) Manager plays a crucial role in driving project success by effectively managing resources, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Lead annual Goal Deployment activities for the enterprise.

    + Develop, maintain, and communicate operational excellence performance to leadership thought the development and implementation of KPIs by department and creating an operational score card.

    + Develop and implement a Kimber Production System with integrated lean principles and techniques that align with the quality management system.

    + Develop tactical plans with department Directors, Sr. Managers and Managers to ensure that KPIs have traceable initiatives and projects designed to deliver extraordinary results.

    + Lead, Facilitate or Participate in driving continuous improvement to address:

    + DART and OIR Performance

    + Compliance / Regulatory Performance

    + Quality FPY and R and A Performance

    + Productivity Performance

    + Inventory Mgt. and Material Flow Performance

    + Build and drive a Lean Engineering team predicated on process improvement. Drive projects using engineering-based principles for analysis, justification, investigation, and implementation.

    + Drive process optimization efforts in the form of time and motion studies, establishment of process routings and standards, cost reductions, flow manufacturing techniques and processes with consideration for quality, safety, and ergonomics.

    + Recommend, Facilitate and / or lead revisions to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to improve production, quality, and safety. Provide manufacturing floor support to correct processing issues and promote continuous improvement initiatives.

    + Develop project plans for new products, including scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.

    + Coordinate project resources, including team members, budget, and materials.

    + Standardize NPD documentations such as spec sheets, part trackers and phase gates to create uniformity across all departments.

    + Monitor project progress and track key performance indicators to ensure project milestones are met.

    + Identify risks that may impact project timelines or outcomes.

    + Communicate with stakeholders, team members, and clients to provide updates on project status and address concerns.

    + Ensure project goals align with the organization's strategic objectives and priorities.

    + Lead project meetings and facilitate discussions to keep the project on track.

    + Evaluate project outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement in future projects.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Lead Industrial Engineers (Lean Engineers) and Lean Technicians to achieve extraordinary results.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    + Required to possess excellent analytical skills, problem solving and communication skills.

    + Proven experience leading a technical engineering group in the areas related to Industrial Engineering and the practices within.

    + 3 or more years of experience in the areas of time and motion study, methods, and flow analysis involved in production and other operations to establish standard production cycle times and improve efficiency.

    + Strong foundational knowledge and application of Lean Mfg. Methods (Waste Elimination (Muda), 5S, Standard Work, Root Cause Analysis, TPM, Takt Time, VSM, Flow, Line Balance, SMED, Mistake Proofing, Employee Involvement, Kaizen. OEE)

    + Proven leadership skills applied to direct reports and teams under his/her control and / or influence.

    + Proven experience in applying techniques related to Project Management & Process Capability Analysis

    + Experience as a functional manager within an Industrial Engineering discipline or closely related technical field.

    + Experience leading and participating on lean and/or 6σ teams utilizing continuous improvement techniques (SPC, CP(k), DOE, ANOVA, etc.)

    + Experience in developing visual and written procedures and work instructions and hands-on floor orientation.

    + Experience interfacing with Visual Mfg. ERP system.

    + Experience in use of SPC software, Minitab or equivalent.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    Required:

    + Bachelor’s Degree. Preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent

    + 5-10 years of operational and manufacturing engineering experience

    + Previous managerial experience of technical teams

    + Strong Lean manufacturing experience

    + Strong Kaizen event and Gemba experience

    + Strong 5S and Visual Mgt. knowledge and experience

    + Strong Project Management experience

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Must have excellent communication skills; reading, writing and listening. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints. Ability write and read spreadsheets.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Minimum of ASQ or Equivalent Six Sigma Black Belt Certification is required.

    COMPUTER SKILLS

    Required knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word using MS Windows platform. MS PowerPoint and MS Access experience a plus. CAD and any base Statistical Analysis Program. Experience implementing and / or maintain a Mfg. Execution System

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

    Overnight travel to other facilities will be up to 25% to 50% during the first 12 to 24 months. Travel will normally be less than 5% (training, equipment development, satellite facility support).

    OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends. Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.
