    Overview

    Tanaq Environmental, LLC. (TEL) delivers environmental engineering, investigation, consulting, and remediation services to government agencies and private clients in the areas of Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) and Emerging Contaminants remediation and restoration, and Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) and Environmental Compliance support. Tanaq is a subsidiary of the St. George Tanaq Corporation, an Alaskan Native Corporation (ANC) committed to serving Federal customers while also giving back to the Alaskan native community and shareholders.

     

    About the Role

     

    We are seeking an **Environmental Program Manager** to independently manage the execution of client contracts and supervision of team members associated with environmental restoration and compliance activities conducted by Tanaq Environmental, LLC (TEL) for US government clients nationwide.

     

    This is a remote position based in the United States that requires an estimated 25% annual travel within the U.S.

    Responsibilities

    + Responsible for successful oversight of all elements of contract scopes of work, including development of and adherence to project schedules and budgets.

    + Reports directly to TEL General Manager and coordinates with key corporate accounting team members monthly on financial status and progress of projects being executed under client contracts.

    + Works with TEL project managers and technical staff to develop technical approaches and cost proposals in response to client requests for proposals. Supports the management team during negotiations of new contracts and task orders.

    + Leads teams of project professionals, technicians, and support staff through all phases of contract execution. Responsibilities include coordinating and implementing planning documents, field investigations, remediation efforts, data analysis and evaluation, remedial action planning, system designs, long-term monitoring and operations, and final reporting.

    + Serves as capture manager for major proposals associated with key clients. Supports marketing and business development through identification of new target clients, tracking of opportunities, and support or leadership of proposal efforts.

    + Serves as the primary point of contact for assigned government client(s) and ensures all client expectations are met or exceeded. Identifies work requests or requirements that are outside the contract, and immediately communicates out-of-scope items to the client and TEL General Manager.

    + Coordinates with corporate and project-level safety and quality management staff to ensure all contracts are conducted in accordance with applicable safety and quality standards. Identifies safety and quality issues regarding contract execution and, when necessary, develops and implements corrective actions.

    + Provides oversight of staff to ensure work is performed in accordance with company and client-driven policies and procedures, project requirements, budget constraints, and quality standards.

    + Coordinates subcontracting activities with support of appropriate subject matter experts, negotiates subcontract pricing, and ensures appropriate oversight of subcontractors by project teams.

    Requirements

    Required Experience and Skills

    + Minimum 15 years of experience in environmental consulting; additional years of experience preferred.

    + Minimum 10 years of project management experience with demonstrated ability to see projects through successful completion.

    + Minimum 5 years of programmatic management experience with demonstrated success in supervising staff, proposal development and serving as the client interface.

    + Experience as project and client (program) manager for US Army Corps of Engineers, US Air Force, US Navy, EPA, or other major government agency conducting environmental restoration or compliance strongly preferred.

    + Experience in environmental remediation services, including point-of-entry treatment of contaminated groundwater (such as PFAS) and residential well, preferred.

    + Proven experience leading federal agency proposals and capture efforts, with established working relationships with federal clients and/or agencies.

    + Self-driven with ability to proactively manage contracts, with experience leading cross-functional teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

    + Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

    + Must possess a valid driver's license with a clear and satisfactory driving record.

    + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

    + Must be able to obtain clearance to access military bases and other federal government installations to perform job duties.

     

    Tanaq Environmental, LLC, with headquarters in Anchorage AK and a Program Office in Denver CO, supports major project operations in AL, AK, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, KS, MD, MO, MS, NV, OH, OK, TX, VA, and WA. Staff are located in multiple regions, supporting projects nationwide.

    Education and Training

    + Bachelor’s degree in technical area of expertise from an accredited institution.

    + Must hold a current Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license.

    + PMP certification is a plus.

    Physical Requirements

    + Must be willing and able to travel 25% of the time to visit job sites, attend client meetings, and/or attend professional or technical conferences.

    + Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    + May need to lift 25 pounds occasionally.
