Division: Within the Nursing Department at ELMHS, Located in Jackson, LA

The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric services are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana

ELMHS is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and positive individual to join our team as a Psych Aide 1 or a Psych Aide 2.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

In this role, you will:

+ Attend, report, and accept patient care assignment for assigned shift.

+ Maintain a therapeutic environment, correctly identify the patient's growth and development stage, and communicate according to the level of understanding, stage of growth, and development.

+ Ensure patient safety and demonstrate ability to identify potential or real safety hazards, corresponding to the individual patient's stage of growth and development.

+ Conduct patient groups under the direction of RN staff and document patient participation; participate in treatment team staffing, provide nursing input, and notify appropriate personnel when patient conditions or behaviors change.

+ Perform routine nursing duties according to level of competency and within licensure guidelines, and document findings or patients’ responses accurately and in a timely.

+ Maintain open communication with supervisors, report accidents and injuries according to policy and procedure, and participate willingly in investigations, providing incident reports when appropriate.

+ Maintain a current and unencumbered motor vehicle license

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Psych Aide 1 or Psych Aide 2 based on experience

Work Schedule: Days or Nights

Compensation:

+ This position is eligible for an SER rate of:

+ $12.15 an hour or $972.00 bi-weekly for a Psych Aide 1

+ $13.00 an hour or $1040.00 bi-weekly for Psych Aide 2

+ This position is eligible for the following premium pays (Per Hour Physically Worked):

+ $1.00 an hour for Facility Longevity

+ $1.50 an hour for Recruitment and Retention
