    Minimum Starting Salary: $1,780.37 biweekly. (In accordance with current spending restrictions, an internal promotion may be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever is higher.)

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Acts as the purchasing liaison for Detention Services headquarters (HQ); orders supplies and submits payments timely and assists the Operations Management Consultant Manager with assignments for Detention Services' budget statewide and in headquarters.

     

    Completes Information Resource Requests for headquarters and regions when the form is required. Responsible for ordering electronics such as security cameras, printers, computers, iPad, cell phones, monitors and purchasing software licenses.

     

    Completes purchase orders to balance out the budget for Detention Services and provide monthly financial expenditures reporting on all expenses including federal grants.

     

    Maintains supply inventory for the HQ office, orders supplies/paper, maintains copier Purchase Orders (PO) and upkeep. 5% Reviews WORKS charges, assists staff in completing required documents and ensures compliance for the Peard process 5% Coordinates, participates, and assists in leading monthly fiscal conference calls with the regional fiscal liaisons.

     

    Assists with training fiscal liaisons in the detention centers on fiscal processes, duties, and responsibilities. Conducts site visits to the regional offices and detention centers to conduct the training.

     

    Attends monthly budget spending meetings for Detention Services.

     

    Analyzes and identifies areas of concern with fiscal related processes for Detention Services. Reports these concerns to the Assistant Secretary's office.

     

    Assists with National School Lunch reporting. Performs other related duties as requested.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Knowledge of:

    Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.

    Knowledge of agency, state, and federal rules and regulations.

     

    Knowledge of purchasing processes.

     

    Knowledge of training techniques and presentations.

    Ability to:

    Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper completion of work assignments.

     

    Ability to communicate and convey information effectively.

     

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

     

    Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities.

     

    Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.

     

    Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.

     

    Ability to conduct fact finding research.

     

    Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

    Ability to travel to all regions to fulfill training duties.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Preference will be given to candidates with:

    -Knowledge of JJIS

     

    -Two or more years of experience of experience in the field of juvenile justice

     

    -Instructor Techniques trained

     

    -Right Interactions Instructor certified

     

    -No prior discipline

    SPECIAL NOTES:

    When identified on a position description, a valid driver’s license is required. If initially hired with an out-of-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable. Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
